Continuing
education is a very important part of the benefits we provide to our members.
From our monthly programs on facility-related topics to sponsoring
CEU-accredited seminars to forming study groups for the Certified Facility
Manager professional exam to funding a scholarship for a qualified member to
attend the annual World Workplace conference, our goal is to offer as many
opportunities as possible for our members to expand their knowledge base.
IFMA’s Certified Facility Manager credential is the only
professional standard in the industry that establishes competency levels in
each of nine facility management core skills. In establishing this credential
in 1992, IFMA’s goals were to assure professional excellence, set standards for
global professional practice, promote the added value of the profession, and
influence its future direction. Since its inception, more than 3,500 facility
managers from 25 countries have achieved this prestigious recognition. To find
out more about the certification exam, download the brochure or the application
for the exam, or to assess your readiness, click here.
At the national level, IFMA has recognized many certificate and
degree programs that meet their standards for excellence in academic
preparation for a career in facility management. For a current listing of
